Bonnie Schultz
Living the majority of her life in rural Northern Indiana, with a lengthy interlude in Fresno, California, Bonnie and her husband recently retired to the Panhandle of Florida. She’s still pinching herself, “We live near the beach!”
Bonnie’s first loves growing up were reading, writing, and doodling. Determined to understand her parent’s conflicted marriage during her later teens, Bonnie worked to become a caring listener resulting in her interest in helping make relationships better. Unsure of what to pursue in higher education (writing? psychology? Bible?) she earned her first credential in education as a Montessori teacher, allowing her to pursue her varied interests: reading to children, teaching, providing creative opportunities, and helping students solve interpersonal conflicts. During these years, she pursued writing courses on the side, faithfully keeping journals and writing hundreds of letters. Her B.S. in Organizational Management facilitated a ten year stint of owning a Montessori preschool, and later serving as teacher coordinator for a larger Montessori school. Finally, as a school librarian, she later retired (at least professionally) from the world of books and children.
Last summer Bonnie celebrated her 50th wedding anniversary and though far away, her connection with her children and eight grandchildren remains strong with frequent trips north. Her interests include: regular beach time, Bible and prayer journaling, reading about brain research, spiritual development and relational skills. Her passion is making Jesus known, being known by living from the heart Jesus gave her, and growing in spiritual maturity.
